HarborOne U® Features Local Artists in Mansfield Office

Ongoing program affords local artisans opportunity to display work

HarborOne U®, one of the country’s first centers devoted to financial education, life and career support services and small business assistance, announced today it will feature the art work of Don and Cole Swavely, local father and son, for the Fall.   On an on-going basis, HarborOne U®  displays the work of local artists at no charge in its art gallery, as part of an effort to support community members.   Since opening its doors last June, the U has featured watercolors, oils, lithographs, photography and multi-media pieces created by area artists.

An art teacher at Gateway Arts in Brookline, MA, Cole Swavely creates portraits of the artists he works with who have disabilities.  Inspired by his colleagues, Cole’s work is part of an ongoing personal effort to better understand his fellow artists whose life and work continue to pique his curiosity.  The photographs by Cole’s father Don include landscapes and aerials, and are what he calls “visual remembrances” of moments that have inspired him throughout his life.    Through his work, he hopes to recreate the beauty of each moment for others.

“We are constantly inspired by the dynamic works of art that line our hallways, created by the excellent artists working right in our backyard.  This month, we are fortune to feature a local father and son, each dedicated to their craft, and are happy to provide an ongoing forum to help promote the work of creative community members like Don and Cole,” said Maureen Wilkinson, Director, HarborOne U.
