Why is HarborOne opening HarborOne U®?
Helping people in our communities expand their financial knowledge is our primary objective. HarborOne U® stems from HarborOne’s innovative MultiCultural Banking Center in Brockton. The Center was opened in September of 2007 to provide low and moderate income residents with access to financial information to help them avoid predatory lenders and assist those facing foreclosure. Cited as a national model, the MultiCultural Banking Center has helped put thousands of people on the path to a brighter future through the educational opportunities made available there. The positive feedback we have received led us to the decision to offer a financial education center for a much broader audience at our Mansfield location.
Why open HarborOne U® in Mansfield?
HarborOne merged with NationsHeritage Federal Credit Union in 2009, providing us with locations in Mansfield and Attleboro. We conducted research following the merger that indicated a strong interest in financial education classes, seminars and events for individuals and business owners. Given our success with the MultiCultural Banking Center, we’re confident that we can meet the needs in this area.
